December 9th 2006

December 9th, 2006 will always be special to me. It is the night that Russell asked me to marry him! He picked me up in Camden at Mama and Daddy's then we went to Magnolia. On the way to Magnolia, he played some of our favorite songs like "Love of my life," and "Amazed." We soon arrived at Cecil Wilson Garden. It was and is still our favorite place! It is a gorgeous garden with a pretty fountain, gorgeous flowers and landscaping. Just sooo sweet and romantic! Anyway, it was absolutely freezing cold that night. We started to walk around and talk and I could tell Russell was nervous. So I just said, "Russell what is it?!?!" He said, well I have something to ask you. So he told me to stand in front of the fountain and he knelt down and told me how much I meant to him and how much he loves me. He then pulled out this beautiful ring and said, "Meredith, will you marry me?" He tried to put the ring on my finger and before he could even do that I hugged him and kissed him and yelled, "YES!" Again, it was sooo cold so we were really cold but SO happy! Then we got in his truck, watched the sun go down and called all our family and friends in the parking lot there. Everyone was very excited. We then went to one of our favorite restaurants, Bayou Bistro.

We went to his parents house later and then my house. We took pictures. Here is a picture of my ring taken two years ago.

We were so anxious to get married. I remember how excited my parents were and Russell's parents too. It was sooo special. We soon set the wedding date for September 8, 2007. God has blessed me so very much with such a godly man and I love him so much! It was also special that we got engaged around Christmastime too! Because we both LOVE Christmas!
