Baby, it's cold outside! Early this morning, Russell got an email from his office saying that it was closed for the day due to weather! Snow day for us! I love days with my husband.
I loved snuggling on the couch just watching the snow fall outside. It just kept coming down!
I enjoyed my hot apple cider, too. Yum.
Here's what was outside our door. The Christmas deer were a little stuck in the snow, right? :)
I am so in love with my best friend. That snow sure was falling hard!
My favorite window
We were going to make a snowman, but the snow was too soft and hard to pack. Maybe tomorrow.
"I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas."
R's footprint. Whoa.
Anyone want a snow covered gift?
Not the best picture, but I love the swag I got last week. Red and green.....the colors of Christmas. "Oh.... I just love Christmas. I absolutely do!" Do y'all know the book "Eloise at Christmastime?" :)
Belle wasn't sure about the snow. Russell even cleared a path for her to walk on, but she then started jumping in the snow of 11 inches! Silly dog. We love her!
Drying off from the wet snow. She prefers to be inside.
We had tortellini soup for dinner and snow ice cream for dessert. Yum! Of course, we are yet again watching a Christmas movie. Gotta love 'em this time of year.
Found this picture today of our downtown square. Beautimous!
Y'all stay safe in this winter weather. Unless you live in Florida or California. :)
Let's see what tomorrow brings us with this weather.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self discipline. So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. 2 Timothy 1:7-8

Where do I start for this post? The weather is so unpredictable in this state of good ole Arkansas. Yesterday it was in the 60's and today it is sleeting, snowing, and low temps. Crazy. Here's the first day of the long expected weekend.
It's kind of a joke around here, but every time there's winter storm watches or warnings, the bread and milk are nowhere to be found in the grocery stores. Luckily, I went to the grocery a few days ago and picked milk, bread, and the essentials....like white fudge oreos. HA! I'm being real here, y'all!
I just love the cute lil Sunbeam girl, by the way.
It started sleeting later this morning and roads were quickly covered in sleet. UGH!
I stayed home and enjoyed our Chrismas music box and vanilla snowflake candle. Love Bath and Body Works candles so much.
I also boiled these wonderful ingredients together in 4 cups of water and then just simmered it on low for most of the day. It. smelled. di-vine!!!
MMM! The smell of Christmas. Practically perfect in every way.
The Smell of Christmas recipe:
1 orange, sliced
4 cinnamon sticks
2 Tablespoons cinnamon sticks
4 bay leaves
1/2 cup cranberries
1 lemon, sliced
4 cups water
Bring all to a boil. Turn heat to low and let simmer.
Later today, Russell and I played Disney Scene It together. I won again!
We had yummy poppyseed chicken for dinner. So so good!
Last time we checked outside, we had five inches of snow/sleet. Wow!
It's a little deep!
Right now, I am snuggled up and watching The Sound of Music starring Carrie Underwood. I am loving it! Russell is such a great husband to sit here with me and watch it! Ha! It's been a good first day of snowmageddon. The hills are alive with mountains of snow. Right?
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on them. John 3:36

For the past two years, we have traveled to Oklahoma to pick out our family Christmas tree. It's so fun and oh so festive.
From the moment you drive up to the farm, you feel welcome and automatically get in the Christmas spirit, if you are not in it already. :)
A baby Christmas tree. So cute!
This tree was just as tall as Russell!
Here's the tree we picked out. We got a fraser fir again. Smells so good right now in our home.
The farm also had wreaths and swags for sale. Plus, they gave us hot apple cider. Yummy!
Tonight, we will decorate the tree while listening to Christmas music and maybe even watch a Christmas movie. How many times have I said, "Christmas" in this post? Can I just say I LOVE CHRISTMAS? I will share more of my love for this season later! Have a wonderful day!!

Happy December, y'all! I hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving. I cannot believe it's December 1st!
The first recipe I made from Pioneer Woman's new cookbook was cranberry sauce. It was so simple. Anyone can do it! I made it two days in advance and chilled the sauce in the fridge, so it had time to thicken. Plus, I wanted to get it done ahead of time. :)
We left for South Arkansas on Wednesday and decided to make a quick stop to see special friends....
I got to see the new baby, Ezra, and the proud parents Chad and Mandy. They are such good friends of ours and we are so so happy for them!
My "pre-Thanksgiving" lunch. What is better than Braum's? Yummy.
We were so glad to see our sweet family.
Lauren is 11 and we are so much alike. It's so crazy. We love to have fun, of course, as y'all can tell.
My sister, Kelly, is so talented. One of her many talents is making homemade sugar cookies with yummy icing. It is a "labor of love" for sure. Lauren was a good helper.
Logan is growing up so much too. Love my nephew and niece lots.
See? What did I tell you? Wonderful cookies. MMM!
Belle and Marcie loved hanging out at KK and BA's house.
I also made brie en croute. So easy and tasty
Kelly made parmesan rosemary crackers which were eaten up quickly.
I am so thankful for him!
Colton and Logan playing basketball while waiting on the turkey.
The final result of the cranberry sauce. I love that Pioneer Woman. :)
Kerrstyn, Colton, Logan and Lauren eating Thanksgiving dinner.
This may or may not be my plate. :)
On to dessert! Kelly made chocolate pecan pie. Divine!
Mama made Italian cream cake. Heavenly!
So did you do any "black Friday shopping?" I did NOT go to Walmart, Target, or any of the "super stores." But Kelly and I had a sister adventure and went to Home Depot.
We love fresh Christmas trees, wreaths and swags. So festive! We were afraid that Home Depot would run out of greenery, but they had plenty for us. :)
Kelly got wreaths and I got a swag and poinsettias.
We also stopped at Spudnuts doughnut shop. The best doughnuts in South AR! Our family was so glad to enjoy them.
Mama and Lauren!
Russell and I had a great Thanksgiving on Friday night with his family. We finally got to meet sweet and happy Eve, who just turned one a few days ago! Oh, how sweet!!
The Prices and Lawson's had plenty of food and family together! It was so good!
So that's pretty much our fun time in Camden, El Dorado, and Magnolia!
So ready to now celebrate Christmas and the reason for the season!
*Side note: We are finding out our sweet baby's gender on Saturday! Just for fun, I added a little poll to the sidebar of this blog. Feel free to cast your vote! We are going to be THRILLED if it's a boy or THRILLED if it's a girl. This is strictly for fun. :)
They will celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness. Psalm 145:7
