Five on Friday

I thought I would update with a "five on Friday" post today. Russell and I have been going through our house this week and trying to organize as much as we can. Organization is not my strong suit, I must admit. So besides cleaning out our house, here's what I have been up to!

1. Bath and Body Works carries a wonderful aromatherapy line. My favorite is the lavender vanilla scent. Lavender is just the best. I got this luxury bath the other day and lit this wonderful lavender vanilla candle. The luxury bath is great because it makes for the most wonderful bubble bath. Can you tell I love pampering? HA!

2. I made this quick and easy beef stroganoff for dinner the other day. And I wanted to feel like Pioneer Woman, so I put it all on a big platter, even though it was just the two of us. :) It was so good.

3. It's been a great week for getting packages delivered. We ordered this pillow sham from Pottery Barn Kids just Saturday, and it came in the mail on Tuesday! I love seeing Jackson's name on anything, but this pillow sham just makes me smile. :)

4. I ordered an Erin Condren planner early this month....on January 4th I think. After patiently...er....impatiently waiting, I finally got it! Erin Condren always sends a little free goodie when you order. I got this red party clutch and desk calendar for free! Bonus!

5. Yesterday, my sweet nephew, Logan, had his ACL repaired. I am so glad he is already recovering well after just a day. Those of you who read my blog know how much Logan and Lauren mean to me! He was up walking around hours after surgery. He is such a huge inspiration!

So that's my five on Friday, y'all! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers. Philemon 1:4

Baby Kicks

It's time to catch up on my blog today. We have not been too busy, but in our spare time, Russell and I have slowly been checking things off our list. Earlier this month, we registered at a local baby boutique. It was so fun to look at all the new clothes they had and feel the soft blankets, too. I get so excited even about the little things!
Oh my goodness. Yep, Jackson's growing, alright! HA! The Baby's Room boutique gave us a basket to put items we chose to put on the registry.

I know-totally random, but I recently got a few new nail polishes from Carrie Underwood collection. I love this color called, "Southern Charm." It's a unique color, but I love it.

Russell and I have a new favorite restaurant.
Chuy's. We were the crazy ones to go on opening night! But we only waited about 20 minutes. Not bad at all. I think we got lucky. :) We tried cheese dip, salsa, and best of all, creamy jalapeno dip. It. Was. So. Good!! It was not even that spicy. Our new favorite. It was so good!

Last weekend, we took advantage and parked in this parking spot. :)
We could not wait to register at Babies 'R Us!

Russell scanned items that were too high for me to reach. HA! He loved this.

I love this pack n play!

We got a real kick out of this stuff. I just couldn't stop laughing when I saw this "large and in charge" tub of "whoop rash!" It's just hilarious to me.

Last week, I had the dreaded glucose test. I was soooo nervous because we just did not need gestational diabetes along with the crazy blood clot. I was so thankful that Russell could go with me. Usually, the one hour glucose test and especially the three hour test are no fun at all and the time seems to just creep by. I drank the orange drink and it was NOT that bad! It tasted like an orange crush to me. During our one hour wait, we got to see little Jackson again!

Here is a picture of Jackson's little foot. Absolutely precious! I know I'm partial already.
After the appointment, Russell and I went to Cracker Barrel. It was the best breakfast ever. HA! I found out this week that I passed the big test! Relief! Thank you Lord! :)

Jackson has been so very active lately and I absolutely love it. This morning, I actually saw him kick. My stomach would pop up right where he kicked. That is nothing but a miracle. We are so thankful for him.

Sweet Nursery Theme

I am excited to share with y'all the nursery theme! I thought about this long and hard because I am somewhat picky, not very trendy, and love classic traditional things. Yes, even for a baby boy. :)
As you have probably figured out already, the theme is Peter Rabbit!!
Russell and I are so excited about baby Jackson coming in May and we are having lots of fun planning and preparing for his arrival.

Even his bedding will be Peter Rabbit. We will most likely get a cherry wood crib and matching or coordinating furniture for the sweet nursery. Ohhh, I am too tickled to talk about it! I am so excited!
The baby book came to my doorstep today, too! I love, love, love it so much!
The detail is so sweet, too, I think!

We still have a lot to do before our sweet son comes, but I am confident that we will get it done!
Have y'all seen all the baby stuff? Even picking out a pack n play is not as easy as it seems. HA! Why? Because they now have about 10 different ones to choose from! Oh, well. It's fun, right? :)

Thank you so much for the continued prayers. I am continuing to feel much better by the day and I know it will be SO worth it when I have Jackson Randolph in my arms for the first time.

Jackson's Loot

Jackson's room is nowhere near to being finished...to say the least. But we still have time to get things ready for him and organized.
In December, we wanted to have a little Christmas décor in his room. I added a few beanie babies that I had when I was younger (they were all the rage), a few cute stuffed animals (yes, I am a kid at heart), a Christmas book about "The Very First Christmas," and a nativity for kids. I really just piled a few cute things together. We had the gender reveal pictures taken a month ago and saved four balloons from the reveal. This balloon lasted about three weeks! I was glad I could add it to the lil collection.
Sweet Jackson has not even entered this world yet, and our family has already been so generous!

We are so thankful!

From monkeys, to choo choo trains, to Christmas reindeer...to cars!

Too sweet. I am loving his collection.
Jackson was given wonderful gifts this year, but I cannot WAIT to really see him play with his new toys...er..wrapping paper next year! :)

Every time I think of you--and I think of you often! I thank God for your lives of free and open access to God, given by Jesus. There's no end to what has happened in you--it's beyond speech, beyond knowledge. The evidence of Christ has been clearly verified in your lives. 1 Corinthians 1:4-6

Unexpected New Year

So I posted the other day about New Year's Eve and how much fun we had ringing in 2014. I was not feeling 100% on New Year's Eve, but we went to dinner anyway. I thought I possibly had bronchitis or something. New Year's Day, I was miserable. I could not sleep or rest at all. Breathing was even hard at times and I had a cough on top of that. That night, I felt even worse. I called one of my good friends who is a nurse, told her my symptoms, and she recommended I go to the ER. Russell and I decided to go. I was very concerned about our sweet baby, first and foremost and wanted to make sure he was fine FIRST. We got to the ER, I had tons of tests, found out that Jackson is thankfully okay, and finally at 2:30 Thursday morning, we got shocking news. I have a blood clot in my lung. I was admitted to the hospital (my first hospital stay), for monitoring. They told me that two risk factors of getting a blood clot are pregnancy and traveling. Well, I am in both of those categories, but I still have some questions about how I got it. There are definitely new things to learn and add to my daily routine that I am still getting used to, though. But I'll get through this. We will get through it together. I was discharged from the hospital Thursday night. I have been home resting since then. I have already been in contact with my doctors and will continue to be monitored to make sure Jackson is okay and that I am okay, too.
I am so thankful for everyone's prayers, first and foremost. So many of our friends have reached out via calls, texts, Facebook posts, etc. It means the world to us and it just reminds us of how blessed we are. Thank you to all of you!! Mama and B.A. came Thursday night and helped out so much. I was so grateful that my Mama could be here for a little while. She made one of my favorites-macaroni special! Russell has been my rock in this whole situation. So strong and supportive. I love my family so much!
So thankful to God for everything first and foremost!!

New Year's Eve

Happy 2014!
Here's how our New Year's Eve went. We had a lot of fun.
We love The Melting Pot in Tulsa. Every time we go, we are so happy with it and are very full afterwards, too. :) They had a set menu for the night and it did not disappoint!
Our "selfie" we took before dinner. Fuzzy, but I still like it. My husband is oh, so handsome! :)
Cheese fondue with bread, veggies, and apples. Sooo good!
I just adore him. We always have the best time together; whether we are home, or at this fancy restaurant. HA! He is my best friend and I am just so happy he is in my life!
Dessert! Chocolate fondue with all the goodies.
We briefly mentioned to the waitress that we are going to have a baby. She then asked if it's a boy or a girl, and of course we told her, "boy." So she surprised us at dessert with this adorable plate and candles in the brownie bites. LOVE!
Now, isn't this so sweet? Sometimes it's the little things. One thing I will teach Jackson when he is older is "It doesn't cost anything to be nice." :)
We got home right after midnight on New Year's and had a little "bubbly," a.k.a. Martinelli's sparkling cider. HA!
Here's to 2014, y'all!
I'll update soon with more!
