Happy Easter 2014

Happy Easter, everyone!
I am making this post short and sweet. I wanted to share a picture from what I am guessing is from Easter 1991. I love that cute yellow and brick house that I grew up in. :)
But most of all, I love and adore who is in the picture. Daddy, Mama, Kelly and me. Love it lots!
Next Easter, our baby Jackson will be here and he will probably be walking around our house and getting in to who knows what! Tomorrow, we will be resting up, finishing last minute things, and watching our church service online.

This song is one of my new favorites. It's especially great for Easter, as it's the perfect reminder that Jesus has overcome the world! He has it all in His hands! We cannot wait to teach Jackson all about Jesus and how much He loves us.

We will update the blog as soon as we can with updates on baby day!

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3

Pre Baby Shower Happies

My best friend, Amy, hosted a baby shower for me on Sunday. I have tons of pictures to share, which I will soon, but I first wanted to share these "pre baby shower happies" last week.

Russell and I went to Walmart and picked up these Cadbury mini eggs and....
FROZEN! Jackson is not even here yet, and we are already starting his Disney collection. Okay...I admit. I really wanted the movie myself...and so did Russell. As I have said before, we are both such kids at heart-for sure!

Our church hosted a women's lunch on Thursday. One of my very favorite people, Susan, was the speaker for the lunch and she taught us so much. She is such a wonderful example! Love her "five times" as she would say!

Friday night, my Mama, sister, and niece came and we were tickled to have them here for the weekend. Russell grilled burgers and they were delicious. We always just love being together and have such fun.

Saturday, we walked a little bit on the downtown square and enjoyed lunch at a great food truck.

Mama, Lauren, and Kelly waiting for lunch!

How can you go wrong with Mexican street tacos, chips and queso, and fruit punch? Thank you, Yeyo's grill! We will be back soon!

We love our town! :)

Russell's parents, Jackie and Ricky, came to NWA on Saturday. They brought these gorgeous daffodils to us from Ricky's uncle Randel and aunt Margaret. Thank you, Randel and Margaret for the flowers! They are beautiful! Oooh I just love them.

The shower was on Sunday (next post).
After the shower though, my mom helped go through VERY old toys of mine and also some of Kelly's. Don't adjust your computer screen. This is a real toy. HAHA!

We found this gem in the toy box! My Little Pony with an afro! Wow. I have no words, but I had to share it. I have had this toy chest in Jackson's room for a little while now, but this is the only chance Mama and I could go through it together. Glad we checked it off the list this weekend. :)

We are gearing up for sweet Jackson' arrival. Praying for a safe and good delivery for sure!

Lately

I know, I know...I have not blogged in a while. It's been a pretty slow month, aside from the baby shower on the first. The third trimester has definitely hit and I am not the most energetic person on the planet, to say the least. HA! However, we are so very happy and looking forward to May!!

On Friday, I met my best friend, Amy, for dinner at Abuelo's-one of our favorite Mexican restaurants! It was so great to catch up and have a girl's night! We always have lots to talk about.

After church on Sunday, we walked outside and saw snow.....  yes. More snow! Luckily, it was not freezing temps outside. I can't have a green thumb because of this weather! ICK!

Belle is our sweet little girl. I love posting pictures of her. I gave her a bath yesterday and I took this picture about an hour after the bath. Her hair looked so funny, but still cute to me. :) She loves blankets and sheets in the recliner, so I sometimes put them out for her to enjoy.
Once Jackson arrives, her small world will grow fast!

When Jackson's room is finished, I will post pictures. It's currently a work in progress!
I really don't know much else. I hope y'all are having a wonderful week and hope it's springtime where y'all live. :)

He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. Colossians 1:28

Raining Babies....A Spring Shower for Jackson

We are tickled to celebrate Jackson in every way possible. What better way to celebrate than a baby shower? I grew up in South Arkansas and lived there until Russell and I married. My hometown church threw a baby shower for Jackson and it was so fun, sweet, and beautiful.
A close family friend, Kim, hosted the shower at her gorgeous home. When I walked in the dining room, I was just floored! Everything in the house was decorated so special and with Jackson's nursery theme in mind. :)

When I saw this cake, I almost teared up a bit. So special!

Jackie, Lauren, Kelly, and Mama

Pretty packages all wrapped up!

Even more precious decorations

Look at this Peter Rabbit carousel? They let us take it home and it's sitting in his nursery now. Just adorable!

Love this beautiful quilt! We will definitely put it to good use!

It was great to see my sweet friends, Haley and Brittany! They mean so much to me!

And I just adore sweet Emily. I was so glad to see her home from college for the weekend!

Emily and Kim, mother and daughter. They are so fun and I love them lots.

Mama and Kelly!

Me and Kelly. Memories definitely come to mind when I attended her baby showers when she was pregnant with Logan. So special and fun.

Heather, Angie, and baby Zachary!

The proud grandmothers

Lauren is such a wonderful niece! Can't say it enough.

Russell came at the end to help load gifts in the car. So glad he could come help!

Heather, Kim, me, Camille, Terri, Mary, and Janet.
Love all of these ladies so much! Thank you all so much for everything. The shower was just incredible.

We had a short but very sweet weekend. The shower was such a celebration of springtime, but the next day in Bentonville was frigid...and that's a total understatement. Hey, spring was good while it lasted. Hope we actually get a spring. :) I am sure we will. Spring and Fall are my favorites!
We will continue to get Jackson's nursery more in order and can't wait to show it to y'all!

When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Mark 10:14

Price's come to visit

Yep, I know I am behind on my blog...again! Whoops!
Earlier this month, Ricky and Jackie came for a few days.
I put together a little "welcome basket" for them. Lavender hand soap, vanilla lavender pillow mist, washcloths, soft lamb (just for fun), bottles of water, devotional book, and a chocolate bunny.
After they arrived, we went to a yummy BBQ place for dinner. It reminded us of South Arkansas and they loved it!
Saturday, we met more of Russell's family for pizza. Here is Russell and Leighann playing!
We stopped at Cabela's because Ricky had never been there before. So we just wanted him to see all the new things at the store.
I will be honest. This chair was my favorite part of the store! HA! Shows ya how excited I was about Cabela's. Don't get me wrong, but I much rather prefer Bath and Body Works. :)
Russell got a new bike! He LOVES to ride and has been renting a bike every week or so. But no more renting. He can officially ride whenever he wants to! :)
After church on Sunday, we went to Crystal Bridges for lunch and to see the newest exhibit by Norman Rockwell! It was so awesome! My favorite was "Day in the Life of a Little Girl."
 Russell and me!
My chicken salad and fruit was so yummy.

We had a great time with them and hope they enjoyed their visit!

Know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified. Galatians 2:16

Easter Blessings

Happy Easter y'all! (a day late). Even though Easter was yesterday, it's never too late to celebrate Christ's resurrection! He is Alive!!
Don't ya just love celebrating? I know I do! Here's how we celebrated the day.

Here's our Spring wreath hanging on the door. Simple and sweet.
We hosted Russell's family for lunch on Sunday. I really enjoyed decorating the tables and place setting for each person.
Dessert table featuring a "chocolate bunny". :)
Everyone got a pale pink rose, monogrammed egg, and a chocolate carrot. Simple yet pretty. Thanks to Pinterest for the idea!
Russell and I were excited to go to Amy and Tony's church for Easter. Amy is the worship leader at BVCC. We have never been to their church to support her, so we thought we would go on Sunday.

Me and my "honey bunny" before church. I just love him!
Amy, Leighann, and me after church. Amy did awesome!
We had honeybaked ham, scalloped potatoes, spinach casserole, deviled eggs, and homemade rolls.
Saturday night, I was praying the rolls would rise and turn out well. It's pretty nostalgic to me because my Nanny made them so much, Mama and Kelly make them too. This was the first time I ever made them. They tasted just like their rolls! Hallelujah! HA!
 Here are the potatoes!
We gave Leighann a few goodies and a cute Easter basket. Included in the basket was the purple bonnet she's wearing. She looks so cute!
She was so excited to hunt eggs at our house.
 What did she find?
Belle enjoyed being outside with us too. She had a happy Easter!
Our little family I love so much!
 Tony, Leighann, and Amy
 Debbie, Ron and Lei Lei
Best friends!
We have now been friends for nine years! I can't believe how fast the time has gone! What a blessing she is in my life.
We had a great Easter. I couldn't help but remember just how much Jesus did for us on the day he died for us. Just how much he went through for us is unimaginable to me. I can't help but thank God for sending his son, Jesus, to die for us, shed his blood for us so that we may have eternal life. Jesus Loves You. Jesus loves me. Jesus loves all of us!

The women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, "Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn't here! He is risen from the dead! Remember what He told you back in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and that He would rise again on the third day." Luke 24:5-7
