Milestones

Can y'all believe it's November? Thanksgiving is coming soon. Oh, how I love Thanksgiving and of course, Christmas!!! I have always anticipated both of these holidays, but having Jackson now makes it even more fun and memorable. He is six and a half months old and I have to say, I am a tad emotional about it! I feel like that cute little girl on the viral video from YouTube who says, "I DON'T WANT HIM TO GROW UP!!!" Ha!
Jackson has been sitting in his high chair for a few weeks now. He was enjoying apples when I took this picture. He is definitely getting the hang of eating baby food.

Last week, I took Jackson to the pediatrician for his well check. He was longer than the scale! EEK!

Jackson is now trying to us a sippy cup and he drinks a little juice/water every day. I cannot believe all these milestones!
The biggest milestone of all is....
Jackson does not have just one tooth. He has TWO teeth!!! On October 28th, I found his 1st tooth while feeding him bananas. I squealed like crazy and said, "JACKSON! You have your first tooth!!" Then I was even more surprised on October 29th when I found the second one. Mommy is officially in a bit of denial. He sure is growing too quickly. I am truly trying to snuggle him every time I have the chance to.

A sweet friend, Maureen, is such a talented seamstress. I bought material for a blanket soon after we found out about the pregnancy last year. Jackson also needed a changing pad cover, so Maureen made the cover, sewed the blanket, and even added this precious lovie bear for sweet Jackson. We were so surprised. Thanks, Maureen!

Hope y'all are having a wonderful start to your week!

O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Psalm 95:1

Adventures in Sewing

"SALE ON ALL SEWING MACHINES", said the ad we saw in the paper about 2 years ago. Yes, it's been that long since I have had this sewing machine. Russell and I woke up early just so we could get in line and guarantee us a sewing machine. I was so very excited to purchase my first one. It even came with an instructional DVD! I wanted to start out sewing very basic things for friends, and once we had children, I thought I could sew them things as well. That night, I popped in the DVD, got out my trusty Singer Prelude, and went to town! Well, not exactly. After I made one stitch something went wrong. I think the bobbin got caught with the thread or something. Oh well! I didn't touch my sewing machine again until tonight. I had problems. First of all, I lost my DVD. Second of all, even the videos on youtube wouldn't help!
Exhibit A: I thought I finally had it all ready to go. All I wanted to do was make sure I could handle stitching.
Exhibit B:
It got caught. Again. I say again, I would LOVE to learn how to sew. I don't know if it is just me, or the machine! HA! I know--It's probably totally my fault that this is so messed up! So I am asking the few of you who read my blog, if you know of any advice about sewing, TELL ME PLEASE! I would love to know! I'm desperate for anything! HA! I do believe this Bible verse below!

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
