A Wedding & Anniversary Celebration

Russell and I went to Camden this weekend for his cousin, Richard's wedding on Saturday. Lori was a beautiful bride. The wedding was so sweet too. Congratulations, Lori and Richard Reeves! We also went to eat at Mel's Seafood in El Dorado to celebrate Mama and Daddy's anniversary. I have to say that getting to Camden was crazy! We saw so many wrecks on Friday in Little Rock. But we sure did enjoy our short but good visit.

39 Years

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MAMA & DADDY!

It is my parent's anniversary today. On January 25, 1969, Jerry and Kathy said, "I Do." They are a wonderful married couple and I love them so much! Kelly and I had SUCH a great example to go by! We Love Ya'll!

A Family Visit

I know I have mentioned before, I LOVE MY FAMILY! I love visiting with them in Camden and Little Rock, and love when family comes to see Russell and I. There's just nothing like it. Friday evening, Mama, Kelly, Logan, and Lauren came! Russell and I fixed a good dinner: Poppyseed Chicken, macaroni and cheese, and Snickers Pie (which is gone now!). We also watched the movie, Hairspray. I cannot watch that movie without singing along to every song. Ha! Anyway, Saturday we went to eat at Java on the Square. It was so good! We also went to the Promenade for a little bit and my very favorite gift shop, Signed, Sealed, Delivered! We went to Laurie and Steve's house for a visit too. We met Aunt Molly and Emily at Maria's for dinner. Today was Baby Dedication Sunday. It was so good! Russell and I were SO glad they came for a good visit!

Fun Night with Friends

Last night, we went to Amy and Tony's house for dinner. We always have a good time together! Dinner was great and we had fun playing a game! Russell and Tony were a team and Amy and I were ona team. They won....it was hilarious though.

Precious Moments...with my Precious Husband!

Earlier this week, Russell mentioned we didn't have much going on this Saturday. He asked me if I wanted to go to Carthage, MO. to see the Precious Moments Park & Chapel. I have been wanting to go to this attraction for years! I have loved Precious Moments ever since I was little. I knew this chapel was very special. The artist who started it all is Sam Butcher. He has a meaning for each character he paints. The gift shop was, of course, a highlight for me too! I got a fleece pullover (pink of course) and a keepsake book for Russell and I. I could go on and on about today! I highly recommend for everyone to go! It is sooo worth it!

Grey's Anatomy & A Recipe

I am so excited that this show is back on! I just have to say! On another note, I have this wonderful recipe I want to share with ya'll. In July, some sweet ladies from church in Camden hosted a recipe shower for me so that I would have recipes for Russell and I to enjoy! I loved it! They brought a recipe and either utensil or ingredient for their recipe! I have enjoyed using so many recipes from lots of sweet Christian ladies. Here is one in particular.

Wonderful Chicken

1 large can chicken or 2-3 boiled chicken breasts (I boiled 2 and it was enough.)

4 oz of cream cheese (you can use light also)

1 cup chicken broth

1 can cream of chicken soup

1 can crescent rolls

Directions:

Mix chicken with cream cheese. Season with Cavender's. Divide mixture on each roll. Roll up and place in 9"by13" pan. Mix cream of chicken soup with chicken broth. Pour soup mixture over top of rolls. Bake at 350 until brown on top. (App 30 mins.)

Enjoy! This just melts in your mouth! I estimated the WW points and it maybe 6 points for each serving.

Off to a good start!

Wednesday is my "weigh in day" every week. I lost 3 pounds in a week. From my past experiences and weigh in's from the past, hey I think that is pretty good! I really don't have much else interesting to update on or tell about! Hope everyone stays warm!

Update about last night...

There were many trees that lightening apparently hit or something but there was not as much damage as people predicted. We really did think that the tornado was coming close to us. That is why we freaked out. Our friends, Amy and Tony live in Bella Vista. They were thankfully safe also. On the news last night, they said Bella Vista was hit hard. We're glad everyone is safe and sound now. This is a picture I found off of channel 5 news.

WARNING: TORNADO!

Russell and I started to have a very low key night. We ate dinner early, the house was completely clean, so we planned to watch a movie. All of the sudden, we saw the emergency alert system come on. Then I thought "naah, this isn't right!" Well, my friend, Amy called me and said, "Did you know a tornado is coming?" Well she said get to a bathroom and in the tub. Right after that, my Aunt Molly called and said, "Get in the bathtub, now!" We kinda freaked because we have never experienced anything like this! We also called Laurie and Steve to see how they were and since they live kinda close to us, we even considered going over to their house! We didn't but we are definitely prepared. At about 8:30 the news said the tornado was coming very close to Vaughn and XNA area. We did take cover then for a little while! Luckily, now, we are watching tv just in case we see any other warnings. Nonetheless--we are prepared as ya'll can tell! We have sheets, even a mattress in the guest bathroom. Maybe we overreacted but you never know! God is good!

Another Fan of PAULA DEEN!

I know TONS of people just love Paula Deen. (Especially alot of people who blog!:)) But I am definitely one of those fans also. You just gotta love that precious lady! I used some Christmas money to get her book and memoir, "It Ain't All About the Cookin'." It is definitely a good book but she confesses to many things she regrets. She learns through them. I am on the last chapter now and can't wait to finish the book. I will say I like the cookbooks better. Sometimes I get to watch her show and really like it too. I would love to just take a trip with some of my friends to Georgia and meet her! Just a dream that I have though.....maybe someday! HA! Her restaurant The Lady & Sons would be great to eat at also!

Determined!

For about 3 years around New Year's, I made resolutions to lose weight. I never succeeded much. This time I'm determined to actually lose weight! I did Weight Watchers a few years ago and it really worked when I followed it. So I'm going to work out also! So far, I guess I have been doing good.
