Race for the Cure 2012

This morning, we participated in our first Race for the Cure at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade. Here's how the morning went.
We left our apartment a little before 7:00 a.m. It was early, but we were excited!
Here I am ready for the 5K!
 Russell was excited too.
Before the race, we spent time walking around the promenade and we saw all of the vendors at the event. They had "Bark for the Cure" for dogs and their owners. Look! It's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. His name is Charlie. How cute!

 Pink flowers perfect for today!
There was even a "Crawl for the Cure" sponsored by Huggies. So funny!
We were so surprised to see 5 News Meteorologist, Garrett Lewis! We just had to get a picture with him!
And then, we ran into Dan Skoff, from KNWA news! I guess it was our day to meet famed people. HA!
The 5K we participated in was not timed or anything, so more people walked or ran in that one. There were TONS of people! We started near the back. This shows you just how many people did the non-timed 5K walk.
Here's the beginning of the 5K! YAY!
There were a few people encouraging us along the way.
It was also good to see this sign! Ha!
When we saw this view, we knew we were almost finished with our walk! We decided to run the rest of the race and it was awesome!
WE DID IT!!! It was so great to do this. We will never forget our first Race for the Cure!
Yoplait is always a huge sponsor for this. This was actually a photo/video booth. It was so fun to try it!
We had a blast this morning. It was amazing!!

Girl's Night!

Our church had a men's event last night, so the girl's had a perfect reason to get together. We had a Girl's Dessert Night! It was so fun!
I loved the chalk board Rhyanne has. She thinks of everything!
Here are some of the yummy desserts we had. SO sweet!
I made homemade apple pie for us last night. I love making apple pie!
Here's Cooper enjoying his brownie! He is so sweet!
Ana, Adrienne, and Eden having fun.
 Mandy, Marji, and Heather!
 Kelsey and Lee
Me and Rhyanne! Rhyanne is such a great decorator! She needs to come help me with my house!
She is also expecting a baby in August! So exciting!!!
We all love babies! Jacob is precious!!!
Eden is such a sweetie, too! Love her!

We always enjoy getting together! Girl's Dessert Night was definitely a success!

Yes to Yarnell's!

Yes! The Down-Home Goodness of Yarnell's is Back in stores!!! If you have never tried Yarnell's ice cream, you are certainly missing out! Unfortunately, Yarnell's closed for various reasons last year, but they just opened their doors again only a few days ago!
"Scoop", the ice cream man, is ready to serve you! This picture was taken outside the capital in Little Rock, Arkansas. I thought it was too funny!
Russell and I were anxious to go to the grocery store to pick a flavor and take it home. I think they are coming out with other flavors in the near future.

Ya can't go wrong with a classic, right? We decided to go with the original. Homemade Vanilla. One word: Yum!

When I was in high school, Daddy invited an employee from Yarnell's to Camden's Rotary Club meeting. Everyone at Rotary got to try all kinds of flavors of ice cream. I would have loved to had been there! Fun! We are so excited that this Arkansas based company is officially back in business. So pick up some "down-home goodness of Yarnell's" today!

There were quite a few bloggers at the shower. I was so happy I got to meet Kelly, from Kelly's Bee's Boys blog. I really have enjoyed reading her blog. She is also one of my inspirations to continue to lose weight. She has lost 104 pounds! YAY!!! It was great to meet you, Kelly, and so great talking with you!

Aren't wedding showers fun? It makes me think of when Russell and I were engaged. I loved those parties! Who doesn't love a party, right? :)
