My Favorite Room!

My favorite room is our dining room. I love it because it's the prettiest room in our apartment! HA! Also, we have a curio cabinet that belonged to my Nanny. When we moved, we decided to put the cabinet here. This cabinet has special items in it. Oh and note our new mirror!
Here is of course our table and chairs, buffet. This picture was taken from our bedroom.
Arthur Court, Mikasa (our everyday china), and crystal are on our buffet. It also holds our formal china inside.
One of the interesting things in this cabinet are 4 small crystal juice glasses. My great aunt, Ruth gave them to us. Russell and I got married September 8, 2007 and Ruth married her husband 73 years ago to the day! So as a wedding gift, she decided to give us those beautiful antiques. Another item is the book, Little Black Sambo. My Nanny used to read this to all her grandchildren with such enthusiasm! Just a special memory!
That's it! I hope ya'll have enjoyed looking! It's not much but it's special and that is what matters. I know that when we have a house, our kitchen will become my favorite room! I LOVE cooking!

Mama & Daddy Came!

Mama and Daddy came this weekend and we had such a good time with them! Friday night we ate dinner here at home. I made a homemade pesto and feta pizza and a homemade strawberry cake (from Paula Deen of course!) for dessert. Saturday we went to Wal Mart to pick up a few things. Then we stopped at Garden City and bought flowers! My Daddy has such a green thumb. We all worked together and planted caladiums, ivy, begonias, and more! We visited a lot. We ate dinner at Olive Garden which was sooo good. Can ya'll tell that we just love Italian? Ha! I can't wait til we have a house so we can plant more flowers. The bad part about this weekend is that Russell and I have both been kinda sick! Friday we felt bad but it just got slowly worse. This morning we all looked forward to going to church but we felt awful! Anyway, enough about that. Tomorrow is Memorial Day so we will have a day off! By the way, I'll have to post the recipe for the pizza later this week! :)

Something New and Kinda Funny Too!

Today I was just running around doing usual errands and I decided to stop at one of the cutest gift shops in town called B La Rue! Awesome store! Anyway, I randomly came across this. It is called Tassi and it keeps your hair out of your way like when you take your make-up off, put your makeup on, etc. I know you are all laughing at me but I thought I might want to tell ya'll that I love it! I used it already. I used clippies in the past, but this is nice! They also carry it in a variety of colors but ya'll know me...I got the PINK one!!! I promise my next post will be a little more interesting-ha!

Wonderful Day

Today was great! Russell and I had a good chance to just do lots of fun things today! This morning, we went to the Farmer's Market and just browsed around. For lunch we went to Java on the Square which was SOO yummy. Russell had a java panini and I had baja chicken enchilada soup and quiche. We also went to the movies. We saw Prince Caspian which was pretty good. It wasn't my favorite but it was good. Then we drove to Eureka Springs and had dinner at Ermilio's Family Italian Restaurant. We give it 5 stars! It was so great! We also got a chance to stop on the way home and got fresh strawberries-my favorite! Tomorrow is church and next weekend my parents are coming to visit. We are looking forward to that!

Another Part of Weekend: Lauren's Circus!

Lauren was our little acrobat! She did such a good job! Oh, there were also fire eaters! HA! The kids did a great job! We also saw Logan and Kelly! We were so glad we got to see them.

Part of the Weekend: Haley & Keith's Wedding!

Russell and I had a very great but busy weekend. Saturday, our wonderful friends, Haley and Keith got married. Haley is my very sweet best friend and I just adore her! Even though she lives in Magnolia, we always kept in touch and always will. Keith and Russell have been good friends too. They knew each other in college and graduated together. When Russell and I got married in September, Haley and Keith were attendants in our wedding and we were in theirs yesterday! They are enjoying their honeymoon in Mexico this week! Congratulations, Haley and Keith Smith! Yall mean so much to us!

"I Have A Dream....A Song to SING!"

I am SOO excited because in July, Mamma Mia! is coming out in theaters! Yes, I am already looking forward to it! Mamma Mia! has been something our family has enjoyed for a few years now. A few years ago, my parents, Kelly and Eric, maybe Logan and Lauren too went to see the broadway musical of Mamma Mia! I already owned the cd and Kelly and Eric loved the music from the 80's group, ABBA so we were pumped about the musical then. During the songs, we would dance and sing along! It was HILARIOUS! The musical was like a big party! My Daddy would clap his hands and say, "BRAVO! BRAVO!!!" It was quite funny but very fun too because everyone in the audience was acting just like us! It was like a big party. Yeah, ya'll had to have been there to get it! lol But I am hoping that the movie will not dissapoint us! Songs come to mind like "I have a Dream", Chiquitita, Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen and more! Russell has not seen the broadway version so in July, I hope he enjoys the movie!

Lost!

Tonight I went to Amy Bowman's house to visit with friends. All of Mary Kay star consultants were invited so I went. Well, Amy lives in Pea Ridge...I got to her house fine but needless to say, it was like 9 when I left her house. I took a wrong turn, I called Russell and thought he would know where I was. I was VERY low on gas, depending on what my dad called the "30 mile leeway". Russell didn't really know where I was either! So I called Amy Talbert and said, "hey, I am in Rogers somewhere but I dont even know how to get home!" Then she got her husband Tony to tell me where I was and how to get back home! Needless to say I was close to Lowell and got on 540 to get home. Russell called me again and said "Meredith you better stop at Sam's to get gas!" I drove to Sam's-----CLOSED!!!! I prayed and prayed to get to Wal Mart in Bentonville. Finally I did! Crazy Crazy story I know! I have never been good with directions. I would need GPS or OnStar to help me! Have ya'll ever been lost like me? I know my sister, Kelly is reading this and Kelly, I am not good at directions like you are! My mother and I share the same trait of getting lost lots! End of LONG Story! HA!
