Father's Day

Tomorrow is Father's Day, as most of you know. Of course I have been thinking about Daddy a lot lately as it gets closer and closer to Father's Day. This was taken in our backyard. Daddy and his 2 daughters.
We caught these fish together one Summer day. Fun times.

On another note, we have had a good weekend so far. Yesterday Russell and I had a date night in Texarkana.
We went to Cracker Barrel, which was SO good! I have not been here in SO long! We really enjoyed it.

Remember 15 years ago, when the first Toy Story movie came out? We decided to go see Toy Story 3!

Here we are wearing our 3-D glasses. This movie did not disappoint. We don't normally go see cartoons but we knew the movie would be good. Like I said, it was great. I won't give anything away, but the end was just so sweet! Today, has been very low key. We just stayed home most of the day today! My kind of day! One more thing, I updated my cooking blog with a recipe that's perfect for Summer! Go check it out!

Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:6

Shoes and Fragrance Counters

Yesterday my mom and I went to Little Rock and made a quick stop at Belk. I needed a pair of shoes and I got to looking at ALL the very HIGH heels like this one: I can honestly say I could NEVER wear these! I would seriously fall and break my leg! YIKES! I am sorry to say I can't pull it off! HA! These are Jessica Simpson shoes. I wish she designed shoes that were not too high and not too flat. Needless to say, I got a "flat" pair of her shoes yesterday!
The fragrance counter was nearby and this certain perfume caught my eye:
The very infamous "Chanel No5." I smelled it and it was okay, but not my very favorite. Mama and I ended up going around and smelling almost every perfume on those counters! Here are some others that I really liked.

Viva La Juicy
Oh my word, I love this one! The name of the perfume pretty much describes the scent!

Heat, by Beyonce.
A spicy yet sweet scent. I cant really describe it!

Love this one too!

But my very favorite, I think is Fancy Love. I think my favorite fragrances change a lot sometimes. That is why I like so many! Hope you all have a great day and great weekend!
I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation. Psalm 118:21

Summertime Faves

Hope everyone has had a fab summer so far! It's been busy for us lately. Yesterday, I met a fellow blogger and friend, Bekah and her sweet baby, Shelby for lunch. Bekah is so sweet and it was so great getting to know her better!
I thought I would share with ya'll a few of my favorite things about Summer. Switch Flops--I love these! You can change the straps out according to what your mood is or to match what you are wearing. So cute!

Speaking of flip flops, I have to try to keep my toenails painted, but I also like to pamper myself with this Mary Kay pedicure set. Oh my word it is amazing and feels great on your feet!

Of course I love to celebrate 4th of July. Gotta love that.

One more random thing I like about Summer is BLT sandwiches! In case ya'll don't know what those are, they are bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwiches. YUM! Mama and Daddy always made these during the Summer months with fresh tomatoes. Perfect lunch! What do ya'll love about Summer?
But those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Snips, Snails, and Puppy Dog Tails

That's what little boys are made of! Have you heard that saying before? My sweet friend, Brittany is expecting a baby boy in August and we gave her a baby shower today! The room was decorated like outdoors!
Pictures of Brittany and Johnathon...so sweet.

Snacks for the shower.....just some of them!

The hostesses and the mommy to be!
Brenda, Tracy, Brittany, Jessica, Sarah, and I. Jessica, Sarah, Brittany and I were in high school together!

Brittany got precious gifts for baby Braden!

Brittany is such a spicial friend to me. I know she will be a wonderful mom!
Every good and perfect gift is from above. James 1:17

Relay for Life

Last Friday was a special day. It was Relay for Life day! Mama and I were on a team for it and our team wore aprons. Our teams's theme was called, "Cookin' for a Cure." Kelly, Logan and Lauren got to come to Camden for it. Here we are in our lil aprons!
Here we all are at the event. We all wore grey ribbons for Daddy.

This is Zoe. She is a cancer survivor! She is 5 years old and too sweet and cute for words! I told Zoe that we would have a special day just for her and we could play games and maybe even play with her dolls together really soon! I just love children. I really do.

So special. I spoke at the relay right before the lighting of all the luminaries. I was trying to promote brain cancer awareness. I also sang, "How You Live", a song by Point of Grace. I was so nervous, but it went very well. The luminaries above say "Hope '10" for this year. It was so neat to be there and I'll never forget it.

Forever Friends

So last night, Russell and I went for a walk with Belle. I was ready to get home and saw a car coming. All the sudden that car pulled over right by us! I heard someone say, "Hey Meredith!" It took me a sec to figure out who it was. I finally realized it was my wonderful childhood friend, Amanda, her dad, and grandmother! I was SO excited to see her! We got to meet for lunch this afternoon. Of course, we got a picture together! Amanda lived in Camden when we were little and moved. Now she lives in St. Louis! We hardly ever get to see each other but I am so glad we had the chance to get together!
This is a picture of us, circa 1988! So funny! Even though we live far apart, we plan to keep in touch! Love you, Amanda!

A friend loves at all times. Proverbs 17:17

Pink is My Signature Color

Hope you all had a fabulous Memorial Day weekend! We enjoyed ours. Saturday afternoon, Russell and I traveled to Natchitoches, Louisiana. Guess where we stayed? You guessed it! The Steel Magnolia House! (yes, again!) We love it so much that we had to come back! Look at that picture of Shelby and M'Lynne! We stayed in the Shelby room this time. Saturday night, we relaxed and then had pizza for dinner at a local pizza place. Of course-it was yummy!

Sunday morning, we had breakfast with all the other guests. All of the guests were really nice and funny too!

Christina and her husband live in the house and they also run the Bed and Breakfast business there also. I know I mentioned before, but Christina is the sweetest. She loves what she does, which is serving others every day. She cooked a great breakfast of quiche, sweet potatoes, and an apple dumpling!

After our breakfast, we met Lori Tate. Who is Lori Tate, you ask? Mrs. Lori played Jackson's mother in the movie Steel Magnolias. She is the cutest lady and hilarious, to top it off! She drove us around and gave us a "Steel Magnolias Tour"!

So pretty, right? This is where Annelle walked down the street at the beginning of the movie!
We saw many other houses and things like that where the celebs stayed during the filming. Pretty interesting.
Of course, we had to get a picture with her! She is a true character!
We enjoyed the downtown area in Natchitoches. So neat to see!

We also drove a few miles outside town to see the church the wedding was filmed in. This is Russell doing a reenactment of Shelby's daddy before the wedding. HA!

So neat!

We stopped at Grand Ecore too. So pretty!

All the actors in the movie had a plaque made for the "walk of fame" in Natchitoches.

Christina left a little treat for us!
Monday morning, she made creme brulee lost bread. It is seriously heaven on a plate, I am telling ya'll!

I can't say enough about what a fun time we had. Going places is one of our favorite things to do! Hope ya'll have a great rest of the week!
