Mardi Gras is Coming Up

Well--Mardi Gras will be here on Tuesday! Russell, Mama and I thought we would order a "World Famous Mardi Gras King Cake" this year for fun. It arrived here today! Look at the pretty box! :)
The cake is traditionally oval with festive colors of green, purple, and yellow. Also, there is always a small toy baby in each cake and as the story goes.....if you find the baby, you buy the next king cake next year! :)

Wow it is a big cake....we will have to share this with our friends soon!

Since I am talking about King Cake, I thought I would post some pics of New Orleans in celebration of Mardi Gras on Tuesday.

SO Pretty!

It's been a very busy week this week. We are expecting snow tomorrow afternoon. In South AR, you never really know if you will get snow or not until it happens. We will see!

Super Bowl Night!

How was everyone's weekend? So....did ya'll spend your Sunday night watching the Super Bowl? WE did! Here is how the night went. Here is a sign Russell and I made for tonight. It just shows a little of our festive side! HA!
We had our friends Keith and Haley, and Todd over for the Super Bowl get together! I was in a cooking mood (when am I not?). I made Pioneer Woman's Buffalo Wings with blue cheese dip, Paula Deen's BBQ snack mix, Cheesy chili dip, bacon crisps, and apples with zesty apple dip.
The guys chowed down on these!

Plenty of food! I think we could have fed an army!

Me and sweet Haley!

Russell, Belle and me....Notice we were wearing the New Orleans Saints colors!

I just HAD to get a pic of the guys! Todd and Keith are 2 of Russell's good friends.

I took this right before the Saints officially won the Super Bowl! The guys were in the football zone at this point! Know what I mean, ladies? HA! Haley and I got to catch up while the guys enjoyed most of the football game. We love being around friends-what blessings our friends can be!
I am SO glad the Saints won, and I just have to say this: WHO DAT?!?! HA!
You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Psalm 32:7

February Thoughts and More

I just cannot believe it is February! However, I do love this month most every year. I kind of think of it as a countdown to Spring almost! As ya'll know, the Super Bowl is coming up this weekend! I have to say, I just enjoy getting together with friends, watching the commercials and munching on good "super bowl" food! I'm trying to decide on what I am going to make for Sunday night. Stay tuned for that! So, are ya'll gonna be cheering for the Saints or the Colts? Russell and I will be cheering on the Saints! May the best team win!

When I mentioned Spring earlier, it always makes me think of our community's annual Daffodil Festival. Mama is actually on the committee this year and today, I helped her deliver festival buttons to places here in Camden. The picture above was taken years ago in Camden. Aren't those daffodils beautiful? By the way, some of you Camden readers out there may recognize who the little boy and girl are in the picture. I know who the boy is, but I am not sure who the little girl is! HA! Anyway, the festival is not until March 12th and 13th this year. We will definitely be there!

Shifting gears a little........
Who is ready to see this movie??!!?! I am so ready to see it. All the books by Nicholas Sparks are awesome, and when the books are made into movies, they are always great too! Well, that is all I know for now! Hope everyone's rest of the week is great!

Groundhog Day and Russell's Birthday Get Together

Happy Groundhog Day everybody! So, for those of you who do not know, the ole groundhog did see his shadow. And that means SIX more weeks of Winter. We can make it! It's been cold enough already!
I made Russell a homemade yellow cake with cream cheese frosting. We all sang Happy Birthday to him, of course! :)

Make a wish! I am so traditional! :)

Me and Russell on his big 2-6!

Ricky and Jackie came to eat with us too! We had Mexican Stack-Ups for dinner, before cake of course! :) I'll have the recipe on my cooking blog soon!

Mama and Russell!
We had a fun time together!

Happy Birthday Russell!

Happy Birthday Russell!
Today, February 1st, is my sweet husband's 26th birthday! He is such a wonderful husband. Russell and I have been together for 4 and a half years. Right when we met, we pretty much started dating.

Here in the pic above, is Russell and I during a talent show. I was dressed as June Carter Cash and Russell was Johnny Cash! We sang the song, "Jackson" together! So fun!

Russell, you are also a wonderful uncle to Lauren and Logan. They just adore you!

All of the Price family loves you of course, too!

You know our family loves you very much!

Russell, I hope you have a fabulous 26th birthday. You are not only my husband, you are my best friend. I don't know what I would do without you, sweetie! Oh, and Belle loves you too! :)

Love, Meredith

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14

Brrr! Another Cold Weekend!

Wow! It has been very cold in Arkansas lately! And especially for South Arkansas. Usually it feels so much warmer than NWA when we lived there! We have not gotten any snow or ice here but like I said, we have been freezing lately!
Kelly, Logan and Lauren came on Thursday afternoon and we spent time together. Friday we went out to eat and then we watched a movie, Mall Cop, together. We all bundled up in our pajamas! Lauren and I just HAD to show off our snuggies. Lauren is styling the hot pink one, and I am posing in the light pink one. We like both colors! :)
And here are all the girls in our pj's! We pretty much all had a blanket and the fire blazing! We were so happy to be together, of course too!

Saturday, we just lazed around. I mean it was sooo cold (or cold enough for us) that it was just better for us to just take it easy this weekend! Nothing can be better when we are all together, right?!

Eric was traveling back from a business trip and he got to stay here a night.

I know I say this so much, but I love my family so much. They are the greatest blessing in the world to me.

Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7

Hark How the Bells

This week has been good so far!
Russell and I decided to visit my home church in Camden. So I got back in church choir and also started handbells tonight!
There are about 10 of us in the handbell choir. Mama is also in it. It was the first night our handbell choir met so all of us were totally new at playing the handbells! It was quite interesting tonight, but after we practiced a few times, we sounded better and better! We plan on playing for the Easter service at church. I am really excited about it!
On another note...
Do ya'll watch Kathie Lee and Hoda on NBC? I do and I just love them! I try to watch it when I can. I just had to share that I am a fan, and if ya'll haven't ever seen them on TV, just watch them during the Today Show at 10:00 a.m.
Tomorrow, Kelly, Logan and Lauren are coming to visit! We always have a great time together!

I am praying to you because I know you will answer, O God. Bend down and listen as I pray. Psalm 17:6
