Unofficial First Snow

A couple of weeks ago, on Sunday morning, we went to church and expected it to snow outside. Some people thought we would have lots of it, and some figured it would be a dusting. I always just go by what is happening outside and roll with it. HA!
When we left church the snow was coming down pretty hard. Here is Jackson in his warm clothes!

Jackson did not know what to think of the snow once we got home. He wasn't too happy about being bundled up like this! HA!

You can't tell in the picture, but it was snowing.
And then, the snow stopped once we got inside! HA! I would call that Jackson's "unofficial first snow." :)

He was excited to be out of that cumbersome coat and hat! :)

Evidence of a little snow!

The other day, we went to Cracker Barrel for "brunch," and it was SO good! Jackson was in a great mood (he usually loves being out and about). We love CB!

Jackson is also beginning to understand how the sippy cup works. At first he would just look at it or throw it on the floor, but since he figured out there was a little apple juice in his water, he now tries hard to drink from it. He's growing more and more!

O our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name! 1 Chronicles 29:13

The Hills Are Alive....With Mountains of Snow!

Where do I start for this post? The weather is so unpredictable in this state of good ole Arkansas. Yesterday it was in the 60's and today it is sleeting, snowing, and low temps. Crazy. Here's the first day of the long expected weekend.

It's kind of a joke around here, but every time there's winter storm watches or warnings, the bread and milk are nowhere to be found in the grocery stores. Luckily, I went to the grocery a few days ago and picked milk, bread, and the essentials....like white fudge oreos. HA! I'm being real here, y'all!
I just love the cute lil Sunbeam girl, by the way.
It started sleeting later this morning and roads were quickly covered in sleet. UGH!
I stayed home and enjoyed our Chrismas music box and vanilla snowflake candle. Love Bath and Body Works candles so much.
I also boiled these wonderful ingredients together in 4 cups of water and then just simmered it on low for most of the day. It. smelled. di-vine!!!
MMM! The smell of Christmas. Practically perfect in every way.
The Smell of Christmas recipe:
1 orange, sliced
4 cinnamon sticks
2 Tablespoons cinnamon sticks
4 bay leaves
1/2 cup cranberries
1 lemon, sliced
4 cups water
Bring all to a boil. Turn heat to low and let simmer.
Later today, Russell and I played Disney Scene It together. I won again!

We had yummy poppyseed chicken for dinner. So so good!
Last time we checked outside, we had five inches of snow/sleet. Wow!
 It's a little deep!

Right now, I am snuggled up and watching The Sound of Music starring Carrie Underwood. I am loving it! Russell is such a great husband to sit here with me and watch it! Ha! It's been a good first day of snowmageddon. The hills are alive with mountains of snow. Right?
