Jackson Randolph is officially here as y'all know from the previous blog post. We are absolutely THRILLED to have him here and hug him, kiss him, and simply love him.
We went to the hospital on Easter Sunday, April 20th. I expected to take Cytotec to help things progress a little more, but once the nurses and doctor checked to see progression, they told me I would stay overnight and get epidural when I needed it. That sounded like the plan we were going for!
Me and my sweetie soon before the dreaded IV.
I was one excited and happy mama!
I was so happy that Kelly and Mama were there too! Having my family really helped me so much. They mean everything to me!
Jackson's heart rate
I was so happy to have Lauren with us too. She entertained me and danced in the hospital room. It was quite impressive, as always. :)
Loved this fun collage Kelly sent me.
Ricky and Jackie were so excited too! They could not wait to meet Jackson!
I tried to keep myself occupied on Sunday night with the necessities. I had to keep up with those royals, and especially the royal baby. HA!
Everything was going great. I got an epidural early Monday morning, felt great, and was anxious and excited to meet Jackson.
I had ice chips all day, but the doctor put a splash of root beer in it for me. HA! I got such a kick out of it. If you notice, on my right hand, I am wearing a bracelet Lauren made for me on Christmas with blue and white rubber bands. I called it my "power bracelet." It was so special for me to have throughout the whole hospital visit because sweet Lauren made it for me.
The waiting room was right outside the hospital room.
Well, things don't always happen according to wishes or plans. We are SO incredibly thankful to have sweet Jackson even more. I was really progressing throughout the day on Monday. That afternoon, the nurse noticed something scary, a prolapse cord. Even though Jackson's heart rate was normal, it was a very scary and risky thing to deliver naturally.
After a quick moment of panic, I soon realized that Jackson will have to be delivered via emergency C-section. Russell and I were so scared, but had a strong peace everything would be okay. It was absolutely one of the most scary and surreal moments ever.

Happy Kelly looking in the nursery.
More family looking at our sweet boy!
It took what seemed like forever-4 hours to be exact, for me to be able to hold our sweet son. Once I finally held him, my heart was stolen by him. :)
Jackson and me. I was so incredibly happy to hold my sweet baby boy. And of course I am still SOOO HAPPY! God is so good. What a miracle Jackson is.

Jackson and Aunt Kelly!
He is the most precious boy in the world to us.
We were so surprised when we saw all of his hair and such chubby cheeks!
Jackson,
Mommy loves you more than you will ever know.
More details on the next post! There's tons more pictures y'all! :)
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14

He does have a lot of hair! It's rough to have one birth plan in mind and then have to change direction. Four hours is a long time to have to wait to hold him! Perhaps he needed extra attention due to the cord prolapse.
He is so cute. How exciting to have your boy this Mother's Day.
He arrived just in time ; )
