Race for the Cure 2012

This morning, we participated in our first Race for the Cure at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade. Here's how the morning went.
We left our apartment a little before 7:00 a.m. It was early, but we were excited!
Here I am ready for the 5K!
 Russell was excited too.
Before the race, we spent time walking around the promenade and we saw all of the vendors at the event. They had "Bark for the Cure" for dogs and their owners. Look! It's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. His name is Charlie. How cute!

 Pink flowers perfect for today!
There was even a "Crawl for the Cure" sponsored by Huggies. So funny!
We were so surprised to see 5 News Meteorologist, Garrett Lewis! We just had to get a picture with him!
And then, we ran into Dan Skoff, from KNWA news! I guess it was our day to meet famed people. HA!
The 5K we participated in was not timed or anything, so more people walked or ran in that one. There were TONS of people! We started near the back. This shows you just how many people did the non-timed 5K walk.
Here's the beginning of the 5K! YAY!
There were a few people encouraging us along the way.
It was also good to see this sign! Ha!
When we saw this view, we knew we were almost finished with our walk! We decided to run the rest of the race and it was awesome!
WE DID IT!!! It was so great to do this. We will never forget our first Race for the Cure!
Yoplait is always a huge sponsor for this. This was actually a photo/video booth. It was so fun to try it!
We had a blast this morning. It was amazing!!
