I debated posting about this on my blog, but I had a gut feeling that I should post it anyway. A week ago, I was diagnosed with a disease called PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome). I am really honestly very sad about it, but am trying hard to stay positive. I won't go into details about it because it gets pretty personal. Basically, I just want to know more. If any of you know more about it and want to comment or email, please do. I would appreciate it a lot.
The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Psalm 27:1

Hang in there Meredith - I've known so many people with PCOS - and 99% of those have babies! :-)
P.S. your trip to the steel magnolias house looks soooooo fun!

Meredith, I do not know alot about it, but my daughter had severe endometriosis. She went on to have triplets via IVF and there are several women on the triplet forum that struggle with PCOS.

Hey Meredith,

I had endo and an un-diagnosed case of PCOS. When I had my laparoscopy they were able to burn off the cysts along with the endo. I was also annovulatory. I just want to give you hope! There is much to be had!

Hi Meredith! I too have PCOS, but I had never seen that awareness poster before. The thing that is so scary about it is that so many women go undiagnosed until they are trying to have a baby. It seems easy to overcome PCOS to have a baby, but the underlying problems are never truly resolved and it can seriously affect your health once you reach your 50's. I wish the medical community would be more aware of this condition and work with women to resolve it before their reproductive years and develop plans to address it and it's affects for life. I tried it, but found I'm not really much of a blogger. But I would love to talk to you via email and share info we find. Wishing you lots of luck!

Hey there. I have PCOS and have for several years. I'm not sure if you're sad about it because of the infertility that often goes along with PCOS or just the troubles that your body will expereince. But I've conceived two munchkins naturally and had few problems with it! It did take me longer than the average joe (about a year both times... maybe less the first time and more the 2nd time) but it all worked out! Good luck!!
