Busy Fall Day and Halloween

Yesterday Russell and I went to our friends, Paige and Eric's house. We watched an old "scary" movie, carved pumpkins, and had delish taco soup and cornbread that Paige made! She also made yummy apple cider!

Here are Russell and Eric outside!

I love this picture because it's Paige making caramel apples and me drinking cider! FUN!

I didn't get to take a picture of Paige and Eric's pumpkin but here is a pic of ours! Mine is the one that says "Price" (I wish it would have turned out better). Russell carved the "trick or treat" one. He did a great job!

So tonight, we were SO excited because we got to hand out candy and Play doh to kids! This is the basket I used for it. Laurie, Emily and Sarah Cate came to see us too! We went to Abuelo's for dinner and missed Faith and Connor come trick or treat so we stopped by their house afterwards. Jennie and David had caramel apples we ate and we visited with them a little bit. They are so sweet!

Here is our front porch. Russell and I are SOO excited because today we closed on our house! It is officially ours! YAY!

See how excited we are? HA! We had quite the closing story to say the least. But a few blessings came out of the long wait for our closing. Russell and I got to know the sweetest people, Angie and Amanda! They were so awesome and Angie goes to our church too! They both gave us a "moving survival kit"and a photo album that has the pic of the house on the front. I forgot to take a picture of that though. Well, I am going to Camden this weekend and Little Rock during the week. Next week, Russell and I are going to our niece, Lauren's ballet! We're looking forward to that! Happy Fall again!

Celebrating Fall, Ya'll!

So I saw a new idea for trick or treaters. Instead of handing out bunches of candy to the cute kiddos....Russell and I are going to hand out..... Plah-Doh! They have these new "trick or treat bags" for Halloween. I think we will try that this year!

Also, we are going to our friends, Paige and Eric's house next week to carve jack-o-lanterns. I have always loved to carve them. However, when I was growing up, I relied on Mama and Daddy to help me with it! :) I still have to get Russell to help! We love carving pumpkins!

In other news, we FINALLY can move in our house! And I am serious this time! We got an early occupancy agreement so we can move on in there! YAY! Riverwalk Farm Estates-here we come! HA! So this weekend, that is what we will be busy doing!

I planned on going to the Rena Tarbet Retreat last week at Sky Ranch Camp in Texas. Since I was in Camden I couldn't go but I did get goodies that my director brought back for me! Everyone who went to retreat got a Tarbet Area bag, blue sleep shirt, flash light, and tumbler! Rena Tarbet is a Mary Kay National Sales Director. This was the last retreat she held so it was a big deal. She has fought with cancer for 30 years--yes, ya'll-that long! And she has an amazing testimony. That is one of the many reasons why she means a lot to me.

Also, since I have been celebrating Fall, we got this jack-o-lantern pizza! So cute! And where did we get it? Where else but Papa Murphy's Pizza! Well, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Wii Fit, Jewelry, other things

Lately, our family has been going through a lot right now. I just don't really want to say what it is. That is one reason why I haven't blogged. I have been focusing on God of course and He has helped me through a lot already. I have been at my hometown for about a week now and these are just a few random things that have made me happy. Okay everyone knows about the Wii Fit! Russell came to Camden Friday night and surprised me with this! We have both been needing and wanting one. My niece and nephew loved it too!
Also, have ya'll seen these? They are called Popcorn Blouses and supposed to be one size fits all. My mama's best friend, Mary (hi Mary!) got her a pretty green one like this for her birthday and I just absolutely HAD to get one of these. I got mine in royal blue and love it. And guess where they came from? OCMC hospital gift shop! I used to work at OCMC and loved going to the gift shop.
These are Chamila bracelets. I have one with a couple of charms on it. My aunt Nancy and I went to a store in Magnolia and I got a house charm and a music note charm.
My friend, Amy, gave me a pretty present from B La Rue and it was a Viva Beads necklace. The bead was a green and pink cross on a black cord. The beads are made from handmade clay and a new thing.

Hope you all have a great week!

Happy Birthday to Mama!

Our family has been soo busy lately. I have been in Camden this week and my precious mama had her birthday on October 13th! Mama, I know you read this, I am so sorry it's late, but I know you understand! I love my mom. Russell says that me and mama are just alike! And we are-in many ways! She is so beautiful inside and out and loves her family dearly.
Here is Daddy, me and Mama at my friend's wedding early this spring. I love you sooo much Mama! You are so awesome! Happy (late Birthday!) And ya'll, I did remember her birthday I just didn't put it on the blog until now-ha!

Yummy Salad Recipe

Okay girls! I have a grand salad recipe you will love! I don't have a name for this but for today I will call it:

Yummy Salad

5 C. cooked chicken (I use the grilled chicken strips in frozen section)
2 C green grapes, halved
1 C sugar snap peas
2 C spinach leaves (I use the pre washed baby spinach)
2 C corkscrew pasta, cooked drained, cooled
1 jar artichoke heats, unmarinated
1 cucumber, diced (I left this out)
6 green onions, sliced and use all of it, green parts too
1 bunch of Italian flat leaf parsley, rough chop

Dressing
1/2 C canola oil
1/4 cup Splenda or nothing
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried minced onion or onion powder
1 tsp lemon juice

I also put some cheese on top!

That's it ladies! I am not a big salad person. My friend gave me the recipe and Russell and I had it for supper tonight! We love it! Enjoy!

Random Random!

I have a few random topics to talk about today! Monday night, Russell's parents, Russell and I went to see the movie, Fireproof. It was oh so awesome! It was even better than I thougt it would be. Last week, I went to Lifeway and noticed they had this for sale (above). It is a Bible study called "Fireproof your Marriage." It has a dvd to go along with it. Russell and I haven't started it yet, but we will soon.
Also, I have been watching The Biggest Loser! It has already been so emotional and only 3 weeks have gone by. But it is great so far!

On another note, I have been so sick for the past 2 days and still not feeling any better! I went to the doctor this morning and he gave me a prescription but it has not helped yet...(that is just me being impatient!).

A few more topics! Russell and I are now watching the Vice Presidential debate and it is very interesting. It reminds me that I posted about my nephew, Logan a month ago. He ran for 3rd grade representative at his school. HE WON! YAY for him! That's it! Have a great rest of the week!
